BRECON and Radnorshire MP Chris Davies put his best foot forward with a visit to the Leg Club in Ystradgynlais.

Leg Clubs typically meet once a week, but in some areas the club is held twice weekly. No appointments are required and members can drop in to chat over a cup of tea or coffee while awaiting treatment. Transport can be arranged to and from the clubs, and parking is available.

The emphasis of the Leg Club is to empower members to participate in their care, in a social environment that eases loneliness by providing congenial surroundings where old friends can meet and new friendships be formed.

After meeting the Leg Club team and learning about their work, Mr Davies said: “It was very inciteful to get to meet with the Leg Club staff based in Ystradgynlais a few weeks ago.

“Their commitment to helping to care for people of all ages left me proud to represent them.

“Many don’t know about the work Leg Clubs provide across Powys and I hope to see their work promoted and more regularly used in the future. Their commitment and hard work is invaluable.”
