BRECON and Radnorshire MP Chris Davies is locked inside Parliament amid the ongoing terror incident.
A police officer has been stabbed at the Houses of Parliament and MPs have been told the "alleged assailant was shot by armed police".
Conservative Mr Davies said he and his staff are safe in separate buildings. He also said he has spoken with two groups of people from the constituency he had hosted at Parliament today and they had already left the area.
Mr Davies, who spoke to the Brecon & Radnor Express from the tea room inside the House of Commons, next to the chamber, said he had passed through the area where the incident occurred just minutes earlier.
He said he’d been at a DEFRA select committee meeting and left when the voting bell rang - alerting MPs to a vote in the Commons.
"I was in the chamber and I overheard a doorkeeper say they think there has been an incident. We voted and we couldn’t get back in to the chamber as the place in complete lockdown.
"Armed police are sweeping the corridors around us. I’m with lots of colleagues and we are just watching on TV and getting lots of phone calls.
"I’ve had messages from all over the world. My brother-in-law has just phoned me from America, and I can see lots of people injured on the news. We just don’t know what is happening.
"It is quite an eerie feeling with all this going on around us and to see the armed police with their helmets on in the House. All our thoughts and sympathies are with those who’ve been injured."
Mr Davies said he had hosted a couple from Brecon and a family from Radnorshire at Parliament earlier today. He said he’d spoken to both groups and they are "well clear from the building".It has now been reported MPs, including Mr Davies, have been escorted out of Parliament.
