David Chadwick has thanked churches in his constituency for providing much-needed soft play centres for children.
The Brecon, Radnor and Cwm Tawe MP raised the issue in a parliamentary debate.
He said his Liberal Democrat colleague, Mac Wilkinson, is a big fan of soft play centres.
He asked: “Will he join me in thanking the deans, priests and vicars of Brecon Cathedral, St Mary’s Church in Brecon, Kensington Church in Brecon and St David’s in Llanfaes for providing soft play centres that are much needed and much appreciated by local residents and in thanking them for all of the other services they provide to young parents in our communities?”
Mr Chadwick said that, unfortunately, he could not name all the churches and religious institutions in his constituency who provide services of this kind.
Mr Wilkinson said he “absolutely” could join Mr Chadwick in expressing his thanks.
He said: “As the parent of a toddler, soft play centres are a vital service that I use.
“I am sure that all around my hon. Friend’s vast constituency, there are far more soft play centres in the various churches.
“I join him in saying thank you. The individuals who volunteer deserve our thanks, although they never ask for it.”
