The ‘Best of Welsh Farming’ is being showcased on the NFU Cymru stand during this year’s Royal Welsh Show.

Photographs from across Wales will form part of a ‘Best of Welsh Farming’ exhibit following a competition run by NFU Cymru ahead of the Show.

From hundreds of submitted photos, 25 have been shortlisted to be displayed in the exhibit with the winner also receiving a farm shop voucher.

NFU Cymru President and competition judge Aled Jones was overwhelmed with the quality of photos submitted, he said: “The photographs that have been entered into this competition really do show the true scale of work taking place on farms across Wales; work that is helping to feed our ever growing population, work that is enhancing our wildlife and biodiversity, work that is helping to retain jobs in rural Wales, work that is drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors to Wales and work that ultimately personifies the heart of rural life.

“The shortlisted photos will be seen by thousands of visitors to the stand, including politicians, stakeholders, key decision makers and members of the public. Thank you to everyone who submitted photographs into this competition. I had a tough task but it was one I thoroughly enjoyed doing.”

The winner of the competition, Ellie George from Monmouthshire, was officially announced at the NFU Cymru press conference on Sunday of the show.
