THE NHS paid for patients to stay in bed and breakfast accommodation rather than overnight at a Breconshire hospital.
Powys teaching Local Health Board said it had moved the patients from accommodation at Bronllys Hospital, between Brecon and Talgarth, to B&Bs in response to a fire safety report.
The patients had been attending a specialist residential pain management course at the hospital's nationally renowned pain centre.
The board says it could use B&B accommodation again in the future.
