CUSTOMERS of mobile phone company EE in mid Wales are to be offered compensation after a network fault caused months of signal problems.

The network operator says it is finalising details of the compensation plan they plan to offer affected customers in mid Wales, including Brecon, Builth Wells and Crickhowell.

Welsh Liberal Democrat Leader and Brecon & Radnorshire AM Kirsty Williams said people in the area had been suffering from poor coverage since February, following the merger of T-Mobile and Orange to form EE.

She claimed that EE had turned masts off without warning customers, but the company blamed technical faults for the signal problems.
