EACH year in June, the staff at PCI Pharma Services’ Hay on Wye facility choose its Charity of the Year.

While there are many very worthy charities nominated each year, Brecon Mountain Rescue Team (BMRT) was “overwhelmed” to be selected by the employees for a second time.

After the results of the ballot were disclosed, the PCI workforce started organising a programme of fundraising activities to raise essential funds for BMRT during the 2017 financial year. Activities organised ranged from raffles, bake sales, Christmas dinner and a very successful charity golf day. The result of all the activities was a record breaking £8,109, the highest amount raised to date by the site in one year.

Kevin Harding, fundraising coordinator for Brecon Mountain Rescue, said the team were delighted with the efforts of PCI Pharma Services and its staff for their continued support. He said: “This amount of money is significant to us as a voluntary/unpaid search and rescue team. The team has to raise most of its funds through public donations, and this will contribute greatly towards our annual running costs of around £40,000.”

This is a fantastic example of committed employers such as PCI Pharma Services partnering with local communities in order to help others.

The money raised and donated to BMRT will be put towards the aim of saving many lives each year.

“The number of call outs continues to increase year on year, with 121 responses in 2016, the teams’ busiest year to date. 2017 is looking likely to exceed that figure with 104 call outs already completed between January and the beginning of October.”

Brecon Mountain Rescue Team looks forward to our continued relationship with the staff at PCI Pharma Services, a proud partnership between both organisations.
