A planning application has been submitted by Kaleidoscope charity to install a public defibrillator at a listed building in Brecon.
The proposal has been lodged with the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority for 9 Castle Street, and seeks listed building consent to fix the lifesaving device to the property.
The defibrillator would measure 25cm deep, 43cm wide and 50cm high, and would be installed externally to allow quick access in an emergency.
It would be mounted in a former doorway on the right-hand side of the building, which has been blocked up and non-functional for many years.
The aim is to improve community access to lifesaving equipment while ensuring the character of the historic building is preserved.
The application is now available for public viewing on the National Park Authority’s website. Anyone who wishes to comment can submit representations online or in writing to BBNPA at Plas-y-Ffynnon, Cambrian Way, Brecon.
