Listed building planning changes proposed

Brecon Beacons National Park Authority has received a planning application that may affect the character or setting of a listed building. The proposal (ref: 25/24135/CON) seeks to vary or remove conditions 2, 5, 6, and 7 from a previously approved application (22/20687/FUL) at Cwmgwdi, Ffrwdgrech, Brecon.

Village green inquiry for Bronllys

Powys County Council has announced a non-statutory inquiry into a proposed village green registration in Bronllys. The application concerns land at the former Bronllys CP School playing field and the Neuadd Terrace play area. An independent inspector will hear evidence at the Royston Memorial Hall (Bronllys Community Hall), LD3 0HW, starting at 10 am on Tuesday, November 18. The inquiry will continue on Wednesday at the same time.

Temporary road closures

Powys County Council will temporarily close the U0229 road in Garthbrengy, Brecon, from 17 November to 16 December 2025 for mains renewal works. Alternative routes will be signposted. For more information, contact 01597 826667.

Powys County Council has issued two temporary road closures in Brecon under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Kensington and Watergate streets will be closed from 27 October to 2 November for excavation and cabling works. Additionally, Sarnau Road will be shut from 21 November to 19 December to allow for mains renewal. Alternative routes will be signposted during the closures.
