On Sunday, July 1, the ashes of Radnorshire rally enthusiast Alan Jones – who lived in Norton – were scattered in Radnor Forest in an informal ceremony attended by his friends and family, fellow members of Knighton Motor Club, and also several representatives from other motor clubs from both sides of the Welsh border.

Alan sadly passed away in 2017 and the ceremony, which was even attended by Alan’s faithful companion, Charlie (his dog), saw a plaque unveiled in Alan’s memory overlooking his birthplace in Cascob.

Alan was a founder member of Knighton Motor Club and the club were delighted to donate the plaque in his honour as a way of acknowledging his many years of service to members. The ceremony was particularly fitting as the annual Pacemaker Road Rally will once again be running on the 21st and 22nd July – an event that Alan was a huge part of over many, many years.

Knighton Motor Club official would like to place on record their thanks to everyone who attended the ceremony.
