Police investigating the disappearance of a woman from her home near Knighton have been searching the property and farmland nearby.
Dyfed-Powys Police, who have been searching for 28-year-old Hollie Kerrall, who was last seen at her home in Glyndwr in Knucklas on Sunday, April 22, said on Wednesday they had arrested a man on suspicion of murder.
Police said today the 35-year-old man remains in their custody. They are also asking that any sightings of Hollie from 5pm on Saturday, April 21 are reported to them.
Superintendent Jon Cummins said: "I would like to thank the community for their support while the investigation continues and renew our appeal for information.
“Hollie was last seen at her home address in Knighton on Sunday, April 22, at around 10am. No one has heard from her since.
“We’re appealing to anyone with any information or sightings of Hollie from 5pm on Saturday April 21st onwards to contact us as a matter of urgency."
Neighbours in the small Glyndwr housing estate in Knucklas, which is about two miles from Knighton, said there has been a police presence there since earlier this week.
Officers have been making door-to-door enquiries since Tuesday and this afternoon an officer in a protective forensic suit was seen at the property.
Police have also closed a road at Whitton, around five miles away, where officers have been searching farmland.
The mum-of-three had only moved to the address in Knucklas either earlier this year or late last year with husband Chris Kerrell but the couple are understood to have split up earlier this year.
Friend Ian Ives-Dean, who lives nearby, said he had got to know Hollie as their children had become friends.
He said: "I got to know Hollie a couple of weeks after she moved in a few months ago."
Neighbour Jean Ashton said the family had moved in around December but said she hadn’t realised one of her neighbours was missing until police started making enquiries.
Ms Ashton, who said she doesn’t know the couple, said: "I saw on Facebook that a woman was missing and they were asking anybody who knew anything to get in touch with the police.
"An officer came and asked a few questions and I asked if she was of the estate and he said yes.
"We are all in shock after seeing the police statement about an arrest."
Patrick Cook, who also lives on Glyndwr, said police had also called at his house.
He said: "The police came around and asked us if we knew anything but I didn’t know her.
"You wouldn’t expect it, I’ve lived here 23 years and it's the first time I’ve heard of anything like this. The police came, they’d been going door-to-door, on Tuesday afternoon and asked if we knew her and showed a photograph but me and the wife didn’t know her.
"I then heard yesterday a bloke had been arrested."Hollie is described as being 5’5”, medium build with dark brown hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a black skirt and long black cardigan when last seen.Police can be contacted on 101.
