POLICE are awaiting further results following a post-mortem into the death of soldier Joshua Hoole.
The 26-year-old serviceman collapsed after completing an eight-mile training route at Brecon’s Dering Lines camp just before 9am last Tuesday, the hottest day of the year.
A post-mortem was held on Friday but Dyfed-Powys Police said it is still awaiting further results.
A force spokeswoman said: "Dyfed-Powys Police is continuing its investigation into the unexplained death of soldier Joshua Hoole.
"Further results, following a post-mortem, are expected in late September. Police will evaluate the results along with all other information available through the investigation.
"An inquest will not be opened at this time.
"A family liaison officer is continuing to support the family."
Joshua Hoole, who was from Scotland, was based at ITC Catterick and had been attending the Platoon Sergeants’ Battle Course in Brecon.
