Dyfed-Powys Police are looking for "exceptional leaders" as they start recruiting Direct Entry Officers for the first time in partnership with the College of Policing (COP).
The opportunity will be offered to civilians who want to enter a career in policing without having to work their way through the ranks from constable level.
The police hope that the move will bring new talent, perspective and experience into the Powys force.
Dyfed-Powys Police are currently looking to recruit two inspectors and one superintendent who will receive up to two years training.
The training, which will including coaching and mentoring, will equip the new officers with the skills and knowledge of policing required to inspire confidence in officers, staff and the public.
The assistant chief constable of Dyfed-Powys Police Claire Parmenter said:
"If you have proven leadership and management skills and want a new, challenging and rewarding career, then this is your chance to help make an impact on policing the local community and wider society in a way you never thought possible as well as gaining real policing skills in a prestigious management career.
"Direct Entry supports the National Policing Vision and Leadership Review recommendations calling for greater career flexibility in policing through better routes of entry, exit and re-entry. We are committed to the continuing development of the organisation and adapting to the changing demands in today’s society.
"The Direct Entry Programme aims to attract existing exceptional leaders into the police service from the widest range of both the private and public sectors. Much can be gained from bringing new talent into policing as similar programmes in other professions have shown.
"We hope to attract successful individuals who will bring new skills, perspectives and a breadth of experience to Dyfed-Powys."
The deadline for Direct Entry applications is 11.55pm on Monday, February 26 - for more information and to apply visit their Lead Beyond website .
