It's hard to believe that I have already been serving as your Member of the Senedd for over two months. It's been quite a busy start and I have enjoyed being able to work on behalf of Brycheiniog Tawe Nedd.

In Cardiff, I have been holding the Welsh Government to account by questioning ministers, asking them in debates, putting up written questions and sitting on the Finance Committee, where I am examining where public money is being spent. There is no shortage of issues that need to be tackled.

At the same time, the new Welsh Government has not got off to the best start. Plaid Cymru proceeded to go ahead with its first supplementary budget without finding common ground with any other party. It was predictable. The budget was defeated. That is hardly a good start to a new Senedd term, and Wales deserves better.

Apart from the Senedd, I’m about to start running my constituency office in Neath. I want Reform UK to have a huge presence across the entire Brycheiniog Tawe Nedd, but not only in one part of the constituency. I will also be announcing regular advice surgeries across the area very soon to make it easier for constituents to meet me and raise the issues that matter most to them.

One thing that has really struck me over these first few months is the warmth of the welcome I have received. Businesses, charities, schools or community groups have been generous with their time and honest about the challenges they face.
