Powys Teaching Health Board is calling on residents across the county to share their views on the future of adult physical and mental health services.

As part of a new engagement initiative, Better Together, the board is running a series of public events - both in-person and online - aimed at gathering feedback on how care could be delivered in the years ahead.

The engagement exercise runs until July 27 and is part of a wider effort to shape services that better meet the needs of communities across Powys.

Workshops, which require booking, will run from 2pm to 4pm, while open drop-in sessions - no booking necessary - will take place from 5pm to 7pm. Events will be held in Brecon on Tuesday, July 1 at Theatr Brycheiniog, in Welshpool on Wednesday, July 2 at the Town Hall, and in Ystradgynlais on Thursday, July 3 at the Welfare. Further sessions will follow in Llandrindod Wells on Thursday, July 10 at the Metropole, and in Newtown on Wednesday 16 July at Hafan Yr Afon.

For those unable to attend in person, an online workshop will be held on Wednesday, July 9 from 7pm to 9pm. Booking is also required for this session.

The focus of this year’s consultation is on adult physical and mental health community services.

This is expected to be the first in a series of engagement phases. Later stages will look at planned care - such as outpatient appointments, surgical day cases and diagnostic investigations - and services for children, families and women’s health.
