CHRIS Davies MP held a public meeting to discuss the issue of the proposed bank closures in Builth Wells and Rhayader.
More than 20 people gathered at the MP’s Builth Wells office to share their views on the proposed closures. During the discussion, local people shared their concerns over the closure of the banks and how this might affect them and local businesses. Many local people then co-signed a letter, alongside Mr Davies.
He said: “That HSBC want to close these local banks shows that they do not understand the needs of local people and local businesses here in Brecon and Radnorshire. That is why it was a great pleasure to welcome so many local people to my office to discuss this issue and I will be taking their concerns to HSBC in a meeting with the bank this week.
"I would like to thank everyone who came along to the meeting and would encourage all those who would like to share their views to get in touch at [email protected] or call 01982 559180.
"By showing HSBC how vital the local banks in Builth Wells and Rhayader are to local people, I believe we can make HSBC think seriously about their decision and ensure provisions are in place for local people to continue to bank as they need to.”
