PUPILS from Builth Wells and Brecon learnt all about rallying during a ‘schools day’ at Theatr Brycheiniog on Friday (June 29). The schools day was one of a series of events taking place at the theatre this month as part of ‘A Focus on Motorsport’.
The centerpiece of ‘A Focus on Motorsport’ is an exhibition of photos taken by acclaimed rally photographer Maurice Selden, which runs until August in the Andrew Lamont Gallery. Having launched the exhibition the previous evening, Maurice returned to talk to sixth form pupils from Ysgol Penmaes and Builth Wells High School.
Joining Maurice were leading rally driver Sara Williams and Ralio presenter Howard Davies. Sara answered pupils’ questions about her career and Howard held a discussion and video presentation.
Sara also presented a cheque Annie Lawrie of Wales Air Ambulance. A total of £683.62 was raised from an auction of photographs signed by Maurice and a bucket collection. This money was split equally between Wales Air Ambulance and Theatr Brycheiniog.
