WALES may have lost in the Nat West 6 Nations to England, but Velindre Wales won the day with more than £1,000 being raised for cancer research through the sale of raffle tickets to win an international rugby shirt.
More than £800 was raised before the Scotland game.
The sale is organised every year by Brian ‘Butch’ Keylock. Come sun, wind and rain, he operates a kiosk which he calls his ‘Tardis’ in Brecon town centre. The winners so far (pictured above) are Jeff Williams (in the Scotland shirt), Oliver Nye (England junior jersey), and Florence Cherrington (England training top).
This weekend Butch and his wife Lorna will be out again in Brecon before Wales’ game against Ireland in Dublin. Butch said: “We’ve had two great games already, both played in the right spirit, and there’s still three games to go.”
