THE girls from the 2nd Brecon Rainbow group went out with their leaders Angharad Howe, Liz Stephens and Catrin Howe to work towards their litter-picking task to go towards their 30th Anniversary of Rainbows badge. The girls and their leaders went around the Llanfaes area, including the park and the woodland area behind it.
Angharad said: “The girls managed to collect four full bin bags within the hour and absolutely loved it. The girls are aged 5-7, they were very proud of their work and noticed how much better it looked afterwards. The parents were very happy for their daughters to be involved in an activity which benefits the local area. It made the girls more aware of the effect on the environment of dropping litter and they said they will make an effort not to in the future and spread the word among their friends.”
