A BRECONSHIRE cinema has ushered in a new era after joining the 'digital cinema' age and making the switch from film to digital.

While traditionalists might mourn the decline of the 35mm celluloid film, Brecon Coliseum Cinema chiefs Peter and Irene Davies say the change was a case of 'do or die'.

With assistance from technology giants Sony, the couple have now been able to revoluntalise all six screens across their three cinemas by installing 'state of the art' Sony Digital Cinema 4k projectors.
