Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team has urged adventurers to take hot weather precautions for their walks and other activities.

They have experienced twelve deployments in July alone, taking them to 112 requests for help for the year.

A spokesperson for the team said on Friday, 17 July: “In the last 3 days, it’s been 2 visits to the waterfalls to help walkers who became unwell, an injured bike rider in forestry above Wyllie village, a injured mountain bike rider in forestry above Dol Y Gaer near Merthyr Tydfil and an injured walker in forestry near Castell Coch, north Cardiff.

“With no end forecasted to the dry hot weather, to fully enjoy the way this summer shaping up we continue to urge everyone venturing out for walks in the countryside to make sure you have plenty of drinking fluids, hats, sunscreens and all the usual hot weather precautions.”
