A POWYS woman is inviting people to follow her courageous battle with cancer via the internet.

Rhianna Thomas, from Builth Wells, created an online blog after being diagnosed with an extremely rare form of Sarcoma in August - with only 25 to 30 known cases like hers in the world.

In the diary style blog 24-year-old fashion worker Rhianna tells how her world was turned upside down after discovering a spot on her head, which grew to the size of a golf ball, and had to be removed in an operation for which she had to have her head shaved.

It was then former Builth High School student Rhianna, who now lives in the West Midlands, discovered the growth was cancerous: "It shocked me, it was such horrendous news and I broke down," she said.

"Writing the blog's been part of the healing process and is helping me get through the experience."
