Police have named a female biker who died following a crash on the A470 near Rhayader.
Rachel Spandler-Parsons, who was 44 and from the Banbury area, died after her blue Suzuki motorcycle was involved in a collision with a Black Mercedes van on the main road between Rhayader and Llangurig at about 12.35pm on Saturday, September 23.
The motorcycle was travelling north towards Llangurig and the van was travelling in the opposite direction towards Rhayader.
The 44-year-old woman riding the motorbike sustained fatal injuries in the incident.
The air ambulance attended the scene and the road was closed for several hours while an investigation of the collision took place.
The woman’s next of kin have been informed of the tragedy and the coroner informed.
The force’s incident manager Inspector Christina Fraser said: "Anyone who witnessed the collision, or was travelling on the road around this time, is asked to report information by calling 101.
"If you are deaf, hard of hearing or speech impaired text the non-emergency number on 07811 311 908, quoting reference 148 of September 23."
Dyfed-Powys Police is also investigating another crash on the A470 in which the 70-year-old woman driver of a grey Skoda was killed.
The collision, in which the Skoda was in collision with a silver Mazda, took place between Cemmaes and Llanbrynmair just before midnight yesterday (Saturday, September 23).
Two passengers travelling in the Skoda, and a man driving a silver Mazda, have been taken to hospital.
Next of kin and the coroner have also been informed.
