IT MAY have been a soggy Saturday in January but there was plenty of Christmas spirit on hand as around 100 pensioners enjoyed the annual “Senior Citizens’ Party” hosted by Builth Wells Rotary Club.
The belated festive get-together for senior citizens living in Builth Wells and its surrounding villages was held at Builth Wells High School.
The pensioners who attended were treated to a sherry reception followed by a turkey dinner, trifle, cheese and biscuits and a warm beverage, all served up by the Rotarians.
The party mood was soon in full swing with musical duo Les & Lesley getting many of the pensioners dancing in their seats.
A generous raffle saw everyone going home with a gift and the party ended with an exciting game of bingo.
Afterwards Rotarian Ian Baxter-Wild said: “The day really was a triumph, with everyone enjoying themselves, even the hard-worked ladies of the Rotary who provided the meal.”
