A village school has pulled off a coup by bagging four tickets worth over £1,000 to the famous Green Man Festival for its Christmas raffle.

Llangynidr Community Primary School hopes to raise much needed funds for the school by selling tickets for the online raffle, which ends on December 9.

The school is less than three miles from where the festival takes place each summer in the foothills of the Black Mountains in the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Green Man is Wales’ largest music festival, welcoming 25,000 visitors every day, and tickets for this year’s event sold out in just four hours.

The first prize of four Settler’s tickets gives the lucky winners early access to the festival site from August 14th, three days before the main event begins. The Settlement community offers a week of camping in the beautiful Brecon Beacons: three days’ of live music, workshops, outdoor adventure and family fun, followed by the three-day festival itself.

The tickets can be used for adults, children, teens and students. The only restriction is that any under 18s need to be accompanied by one adult. Tickets include camping but guests will need to bring their own camping equipment.

Green Man 2023 takes place between 17-20 August, 2023, at Glanusk Park, just outside Crickhowell.

Mrs Sian Shepherdson, headteacher, said: “We’re so grateful to everyone at the Green Man and Green Man Trust for their amazing support for a local school.

“It’s a lovely gesture to be giving back to the local community like this. It’s the first time we’ve had an online raffle so please share with your friends far and wide.”

The second prize in the raffle is a local Christmas tree, generously donated by CK and KL Davis with delivery to Llangynidr, Talybont or Bwlch if needed.

Third prize is a Christmas hamper with items donated by parents and carers of Llangynidr School pupils.
