Dyfed-Powys Police have thanked well wishers who’ve sent messages of support for an officer seriously injured in a crash.

The on-duty policeman was airlifted to hospital when an unmarked police car was involved in a collision with a Fiat Ducato van from the firm BT Openreach on the A470 between Builth Wells and Llyswen at 3.10pm on Thursday, November 9.

The driver of the van was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The road was closed at 3.45pm and didn’t reopen until just after 10pm.

A police spokeswoman said: "We would like to thank everyone who has expressed kind thoughts and messages for the injured police officer."

The fire and ambulance services and Powys council also attended at the scene.
