During a service at St Clement’s Church in Rhayader this week the Reverend Lance Sharpe was inducted as the Priest in Charge of the Benefice of Gwastedyn and Associate Priest of the Ministry Area of West Radnor.
The service was conducted by the Archbishop of Wales, the Most Reverend John Davies. The Rev Sharpe comes to Rhayader from Morrison where he has been the Senior Hospital Chaplin to the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board. Rhayader Church, which is part of the Diocese of Swansea and Brecon has been without a vicar for nearly two years. Also at the induction were the Diocesan Registrar Tim Davenport, the Archdeacon of Brecon the Venerable Alan Jevons, the Dean of Brecon the Very Revd Dr Paul Shackerley, the Area Dean Revd Canon Mark Beaton together with representatives of the churches in the Benefice of Gwastedyn.
