SERVICES, including the children's centre, could be moved from Brecon's hospital to accommodate a south Powys stroke unit.

Health chiefs faced concerned residents at the first of a series of consultation meetings at Hay-on-Wye Primary School to discuss plans to relocate the unit from its existing home at Bronllys Hospital.

Officials outlined their case for relocating the unit to Breconshire War Memorial Hospital, and also suggested services currently based at Cerrigochion Road could be moved to other locations, including Bronllys.
