YOUNG musicians from across South Powys are to showcase their talents at a series of concerts in Brecon.

Gathered from schools across Brecon and Radnorshire they will perform at the South Powys Youth Music's (SPYM) Annual Gala at Theatr Brycheiniog on Wednesday, March 11 and Thursday, March 12.

It is the first time SPYM has staged its annual gala over two days and nearly 200 children and young people will perform in a series of concerts staged from 11am through to 9pm each day.

Ensembles range from a 'shake rattle and roll' toddler group to primary strings, wind band, junior orchestra, percussion ensemble, choir and the flagship South Powys Youth Orchestra.

Instructor Tim Cronin said: "The annual South Powys Youth Music Gala is a great opportunity for us to showcase the work of SPYM and its very talented children and young people."
