The Rotary Club of Knighton and District recently held its second Young Photographer Competition with the theme ‘The Colours of Nature’.
The club had 32 entrants aged between six and 18 years old and there was a very high standard set throughout the age groups.
On Tuesday, April 19 at the opening in Knighton Library of an exhibition of all the 32 entrants in the competition, representatives of Knighton Rotary Club presented several of the winners with certificates.

Incoming president Kim Smith said: “We are very pleased to see the photographic entries from so many talented young photographers. In our eyes everyone is a winner!”
Knighton librarian, Hannah Isaacson, added: “We are proud to be able to display these amazing photographs both in the main library and in the hallway.
“We also thank the Knighton Rotary Club for all their efforts in creating such a beautiful display from such a wonderful collection of photographs on the Colours of Nature theme.”
Florence Kuipers won first place in the 12 to 15 age group and was also rotary president Margaret Thorp’s choice of the competition.
Certificates were also presented to Robin Fletcher (second place in the 12 to 15 age group) Ellie Hunter (first in the 6 to 11 age group) Paige Wood (second in the 6 to 11 age group) and Rhea Scragg (third in the 6 to 11 age group).

The display will continue for four weeks, during the opening times of the Knighton Library, which are: Tuesday 10.30am - 1pm and 2-5pm, Thursday 10.30am -1pm and 2-6pm and Friday 8am - 12.30pm.
