A supported living service in Talgarth is celebrating its 15th anniversary this month.
Ashburnham House has been a vital part of the local community since opening its doors in 2010, providing personalised support to individuals with a range of needs to help them live as independently as possible.
As part of the celebrations, a special event was held to recognise not only the longevity of the service but also the dedicated staff who have helped make it a success. Collectively, the team marked an impressive 120 years of service, including Service Manager Pat Sharman, who has been with Ashburnham House since day one.
Pat, who celebrated his own 15-year milestone, said: "It’s been a privilege to be part of Ashburnham House from the very beginning. Seeing the positive impact we’ve had on people’s lives over the years is truly humbling. I’m incredibly proud of the team and what we've achieved together. Ashburnham House represents everything we strive for – person-centred support, dignity, and a strong sense of community.”
The anniversary event featured presentations, light refreshments and an opportunity for residents, staff, and local supporters to reflect on the past 15 years and look ahead to the future of the service.
Ashburnham House is operated by Shaw healthcare, the largest employee-owned care provider in the UK.
