Austrian tenor Ilker Arcayürek and piano accompanist Martin Pickard perform Schubert’s great song cycle, Winterreise, at the Assembly Rooms in Presteigne this Sunday (April 7) at 8pm.
Ilker Arcayürek has emerged as one of the most exciting and versatile vocal artists in recent years, making impressive debuts on opera and recital stages throughout Europe.
He was a finalist of the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition 2015 and was selected as a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist in 2017. He made his highly anticipated Wigmore Hall recital debut featuring lieder by Schubert and Schumann in autumn 2016.
Highly rated by opera aficionados, Ilker has been described by no less an authority than Opera Now as “a golden and natural lyric tenor, even throughout the range and sensitive to text, with the benefit of solid top notes”.
