HERITAGE body Cadw says it is willing to consider using local reclaimed stone to rectify restoration work on Crickhowell Bridge.

It comes after a 'tremendous' offer from Harry Legge-Bourke of Glanusk Estate, together with the Duke of Beaufort's estate, to use stone from their grounds for the controversial project.

Residents in the communities either side of the late 17th century listed monument, in Crickhowell and Llangattock, had been up in arms over the appearance of pointing works and replacement coping stones used on the bridge.
