FORTY tractors trundled into Newbridge on Wye for the annual tractor run on Sunday (September 24) in support of the local Cancer Research UK group.
The event is organised each year by Keith Williams and his family. Starting from Penbont fields, it attracted participants not only from the immediate local towns and villages but from as far afield as Bridgnorth, Hereford and Leominister. The tractors started off by heading towards Llanafan Fawr before bearing south down the Wye Valley to Builth Road. Here the tractors headed towards the Carneddau Hills and Rhogo before meandering back to Newbridge for a well-earned lunch stop.
After replenishment and the drawing of the raffle, Keith thanked everyone for their support and generosity, with special thanks going to all the landowners. Then the tractors took off again, but this time in a westerly direction passing Llysdinam Hall and Lluestnewydd via Llanfiangel Bryn Pabuan, before returning to Penbont.
