IN the run up to this year’s Sennybridge Show, the president Peter Francis and chairman David Vaughan organised a fund raising tractor run.

Starting at Sennybridge market, and with the kind permission of The Cnewr Estate, it travelled over the mountain roads to Ystradfellte where the tractor drivers stopped for lunch before travelling back to the Whitehouse Country Inn in Sennybridge for refreshments, a raffle and auction. It was a breath-taking sight to have all these tractors in one place and quite emotional for all to see when they left to start the run. A fantastic day was had by all but the weather had the last laugh. The fog was down on the hilltops so the only view for those taking part was the back of the tractor in front. A total of 101 tractors and 19 four-wheel-drive vehicles took part, ranging from a Grey Massey Ferguson to a 270hp New Holland and every other make in between. A good sum was raised which will be distributed between Sennybridge Show and The Welsh Air Ambulance.
