A TREE brought down by heavy winds crashed through the roof of Rhayader's St John Ambulance Station.

Fortunately no-one was inside the Dark Lane building when the tree came down between 4pm and 5pm last Thursday, November 22.

Earlier the town's Wellbeing Club had met at the station and young recruits from Rhayader St John Badgers club where due to arrive for their weekly meeting.

Despite the damage the charity is still able to operate from its base.
