The final episode of a new BBC series will see TV presenter Will Millard visit the Brecon Beacons to catch one of Wales most iconic fish.
Go Fish! With Will Millard will feature the fishing fanatic at Pontsticill Reservoir with angling expert Chris Howell, who has been catching pike at the spot for nearly 30 years.
Viewers can watch Will at he attempts to hook one of the prehistoric predators and explores myths around the fish when it airs this evening.
The episode will also show Will cast a line with local anglers competing in a competition in Port Talbot as well as visiting a secret fishing spot in the Rhondda.
Will said: “Growing up in the middle of the Fens, the pike was very much part of my life. I probably went into this journey a little over confident, and my goodness, did the Welsh pike make sure I was brought right back down to the soles of my waders.
“I fished the mighty Pontsticill Reservoir for some of the most beautiful pike I have ever seen, joined a competition in the Port Talbot docks, and found my crucible in a secret pond tucked deep within the Rhondda valleys.
“Rumours of a duck-eating monster kept me coming back time and again through the frozen winter, but I think it is fair to say we had all but written it off to legend and fancy. Then my float slid away late one winter evening and pandemonium broke out.”
You can watch the episode tonight on BBC One Wales at 8pm. It will also be available on BBC iPlayer, which is also showing the previous three episodes in the series, for the next 30 days.
