Just four days before his busiest day of the year, Father Christmas will be visiting visiting Hay-on-Wye and its surrounding villages.

On Sunday, December 21, Santa will be visiting Hay-on-Wye, Llanigon, and Cusop, spreading festive cheer and joy to everyone in the community.

Here’s the magical route Santa will follow:

4:40pm: Starting in Caepound, then heading up Brecon Road.

5pm: Visiting Llanigon, turning at the community hall, before returning to Hay around 5:30pm.

Back in Hay, Santa will visit Meadows, Birch Close, Wyeside, Warren Close, Gypsy Castle, and St Mary’s Road. He will travel across to the playing fields, to Castle Street, High Town, and past the Legion. Then it’s down Bear Street, to Heol y Dwr, Booths Gardens, Bookers Edge, and Broad Street to Carlsgate. He will then turn at the town clock into Lion Street, then Oxford Road, and over to Cusop at the community centre.

Santa will finish with a final magical lap through the town centre

The event is organised by the Hay Summer Show team and a committee of elves will be taking donations for the summer show.

Times may vary depending on traffic and the number of excited young people waving Santa on. Organisers will do their best to keep their Facebook page updated throughout the evening.

Earlier in the day, the Hay Santa Fun Run will take place, kicking off at 10am. The Hay School PTFA has teamed up with the Hay Summer Show to organise this annual festive event.

The run will start and finish at the Parish Hall on Lion Street, Hay-on-Wye, with registration on the day only. Participants can turn up from 9am to sign up. Entry fees are £5 for individual adults, £3 for children under 16, and £12 for a group of two adults and two children under 16.
