THREE top harpists visited the Radnorshire Museum at Llandrindod Wells this week to see and to play on the museum’s Welsh Triple Harp that belonged to the famous Welsh gypsy harpist John Roberts and was once played for Queen Victoria.

The harp has now been restored to playing condition with the generous financial support of the Friends of the Radnorshire Museum. The top harpists included Camille and Kennerly Kitt (aka the Harp Twins) all the way from Chicago who have been in Wales giving sell-out performances and took a break from their busy schedule to pay homage to this true Welsh musical icon, to hear it and play it themselves.

They were accompanied by fellow virtuoso Robin Huw Bowen of Aberystwyth, all three wanted to see and play the wonderful Welsh Triple Harp.

Since 1983 Robin Huw Bowen has introduced the Welsh Triple Harp and its music to thousands of people all over he world. He is the only full time professional Welsh harpist specializing solely in the Welsh Triple Harp and his influence on the world of Welsh Folk music and harping has been far reaching. He undoubtedly ranks among the most important figures that the Welsh folk tradition has produced.
