Residents in two Powys towns will be able to meet pre-historic monsters in spring as part of a dinosaur experience.
Dinomania has gained online success on its YouTube and TikTok channels which feature its various dinosaurs along with the rangers.
The Hirwaun based company visits locations and events all around the UK, either as part of the Dinomania tour or so that the dinosaurs and rangers can take part in everything from weddings, to school workshops to corporate events.
As part of the 2022 Dinomania tour, the pre-historic creatures and their handlers will be visiting Brecon and Llandrindod Wells in May.
Each show lasts around 90 minute which has a total of 15 dinosaurs, including seven ‘walking’ dinosaurs as well as baby dinosaurs.
On its website, Dinomania said: “We’re the UK’s premier dinosaur entertainment provider, known for the Dinomania ‘live dinosaur’ experience, as well as our outstanding collection of dinosaurs for hire. Witness realistic walking dinosaurs, small interactive puppets, animatronics, fossils and replicas. We’ve got more dinosaurs for hire than any other company in the UK.
“We even boast millions of followers online including 600,000 YouTube subscribers and 1.4 million Tiktok fans from all over the world.
“Our knowledgable dinosaur hire team and our show staff have reams of knowledge to share with you! Head ranger Chris and our other staff members have done courses on subjects including paleobiology, the evolution of birds, prehistoric ecosystems and theropods, and are ready to share this information with young and old alike.”
The Welsh team hosts the largest walking dinosaur in the UK, Al the Allosaurus which stands at 7.3 metres long and four metres tall.
The walking dinosaurs do everything from walking to blinking and winding up their rangers.
Dinoamania also features a mini-museum with real fossils, replicas and various facts about the giant monsters.
The exhibit includes items from all the big dinosaur favourites such as Tyrannosaurus Rex, Spinosaurus, Triceratops, and Stegosaurus as well as other dinosaurs including some marine reptiles and other prehistoric creatures.
The rangers wills also allow the crowd to meet the baby dinosaurs - the larger dinosaurs will only be available as part of a limited meet and greet experience.
The Dinomania team said: “Meet and greet tickets will be made available to purchase 2-3 weeks prior to the event, an email will be sent out to all ticket holders to purchase them on a first come first served basis as only 35 will be available.”
At both Brecon and Llandrindod, there will be two sessions - one at 11am and one at 2pm - with 200 ticket available for each.
The events in Brecon will take place at Brecon Leisure Centre on Saturday, May 14, meanwhile the event in Llandrindod will take place at Llandrindod Wells Sports Centre on Sunday, May 15.
While children under two are free to enter the event, the recommended age for the experience is 3-14 years old - the team has warned that the larger dinosaur are “very big and realistic” meaning that there is “mild scare factor”.
While tickets are non-refundable, Dinomaniader has reassured ticket-holders that it will make an exception if the event is impacted by Covid-19 and restrictions.
They said: “Should the Coronovirus virus effect any Dinomania Ltd event, then we will reschedule as quickly as possible and postpone the event to another date. All tickets will be transferred to the new date and time. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled event, a full refund will be given. We will only offer refunds when the new date is scheduled. We cannot offer compensation for travel costs or any other costs out of our control.”
