A WALKER returned from climbing Pen y Fan and found his modern VW camper van had been stolen from the Storey Arms car park.
Police are now appealing for the public to keep an eye out for what they call the "distinctive" silver VW Transporter.
It was taken from the Storey Arms car park, at the foot of Pen y Fan and beside the main A470, between 12.30 and 3.30pm on Easter Monday, April 22 a time the car park would have been full and many walkers in the area.
A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said its owner had been walking in the Brecon Beacons: "The vehicle went missing sometime between 12.30pm and 3.30pm while the owner went for a walk. He returned to the parking spot to discover it had gone and reported it to police.
"Anyone with information that can help officers with their investigation is asked to report it by calling 101. If you are deaf, hard of hearing or speech impaired text the non-emergency number on 07811 311 908. Quote reference: DPP/3896/22/04/2019/02/C."
The force is also investigating the theft of a light silver Ford Transit minibus from Llangynidr that was taken at around half past midnight on Easter Sunday, April 21.
Police say a white or silver Transit van is believed to be involved. Anyone with information can contact Dyfed-Powys Police on 101.
