Following a successful application, Three Cocks Matters Community Group are delighted to have been awarded a Local Places for Nature Supersize Garden Package by Keep Wales Tidy, made possible through funding from the Welsh Government. This marks a significant milestone in the wider regeneration of Bottom Park and will create a new accessible community garden for residents of all ages to enjoy for many years to come.

Working alongside the Keep Wales Tidy team, volunteers will begin constructing the garden, including building the eight raised beds, installing the pergola and creating the foundations of what will become a vibrant space for food growing, biodiversity, outdoor learning, health and wellbeing, and community activities.

The group’s first Community Garden Build Day will take place on Monday, 24 August, at Bottom Park in Three Cocks at 10am until 4pm.

Chair of Three Cocks Matters Community Group, Nick Pritchard said: “Community involvement has always been at the heart of this project, and we’d be delighted to welcome anyone from your organisation who is able to come along and lend a hand. Whether someone can spare an hour or stay for the whole day, every contribution will help create a lasting community asset.

“This project has only reached this stage thanks to the fantastic support, encouragement and partnership we’ve received from so many organisations and individuals. We’d like to thank you all for your continued support and hope you’ll be able to join us as we take another major step forward.
