TWO photographs taken by Brecon & Radnor Express photographer Peter Williams have been shortlisted in the 2017 Royal Rota Photography Competition.

The pictures chosen for the competition, which seeks to find the best images of members of the royal family taken by local, regional and national photographers on official Royal rota engagements in the last 12 months, are displayed on the website of the News Media Association.

Visitors to the website can then click on one of the 48 showcased photographs online to help choose the winners in one of the following five categories:

National Newspaper Rota Photo of the Year

Regional/Local Newspaper Rota Photo of the Year

Rota Picture Agency Rota Photo of the Year

Overall Rota Photo of the Year

Bonus Category - Best Election Photo

The first of Peter’s pictures was taken during a visit by Prince Charles and his wife the Duchess of Cornwall to Talgarth Mill when the Royal couple enjoyed a joke while helping to knead bread during their visit in July 2016.

The second picture shows Prince Charles sharing a private joke with Garth Village Hall chair Janet Williams when he visited the hall a year after it was refurbished to celebrate its 100th birthday during the same visit to Wales.

B&R readers who would like to vote for one of Peter’s photographs - or one of the others, can do so by visiting the following link before midday on Friday, June 23: http://www.newsmediauk.org/Royal-Rota-Photography-Competition-2017?id=135644
