On Saturday, June 3 around 70 people dressed as something beginning with ‘B’ did a sponsored walk up to the top of Mount Snowdon and back. The walk was in memory of Billy Price (Prosser) who died on New Year’s Eve 2016 at 19 years of age.

The walkers made up of his family and friends raised a massive £5,840.00 for PAPYRUS a charity that campaigns to prevent suicide in youth.

The walk was organised by Chelsea Stuckey a life long friend of Billy’s. Chelsea was thanked in a letter from the charity which said “On behalf of everyone here thank you so much for getting involved and supporting the work we do. We rely heavily on donations and having support from you, Chelsea will really make a difference in helping us to continue to deliver and improve our existing life-saving services. Thank you for helping us save more young lives from the team at PAPYRUS prevention of young suicide”.

Some of the money from the walk was going to be used to buy a memorial bench but there will now be two benches one donated by local builder Graham Collins and one by Barhale a construction company working on the Elan Valley pipeline.

It is hoped one bench will be placed in Knighton Cemetery and one at the Skate Park.
