Brecon Delivery Office is the highest performing in Wales this year, according to official Royal Mail scorecards.
This was one of the facts that County Council Chair, Cllr William Powell discovered on an early morning visit to the Ffrwdgrech offices this week.
At the invitation of General Manager, Neal Gardner, William had a chance to catch up with posties covering the whole Brecknock area and to thank them for their hard work throughout the year, but especially in the run up to Christmas.

His visit included a surprise encounter with the Grinch - who even tried to make away with the Chairman's Chain and the trophy won by the Brecon posties for their achievements.
General Manager Neal Gardner said: "It was good to explain to William how well the team has been performing - and the changes planned in the New Year. We’ve cleared every day but haven’t seen the Christmas cards like years gone by."
Commenting on his visit, County Council Chair William Powell said: "In our deep rural areas of Powys and in the towns, our posties provide a vital service and especially an important human contact for those who are housebound or live alone.
"I was delighted to accept Neal's invitation to visit and to learn about our high performing local posties. They are amongst our most important key workers - and I wish them all a Happy Christmas and a well-deserved rest in the coming days."
