AN ACTION group has been set up to deal with residents' concerns at the volume of traffic generated by visitors to a Brecon Beacons village.

Pontneddfechan draws many visitors, especially during the summer months, attracted by the surrounding countryside's billing as 'Waterfall Country'.

But fed up residents say the Breconshire village is unable to cope, especially with the large number of cars.

Retired headteacher Morwen Owen-Evans claimed residents are afraid to leave their parking spaces while some tourists even park across driveways.

An action group, consisting of local bodies, including the Brecon Beacons National Park and Powys County County Council and local residents, will now be formed to tackle the issues raised.
