RACHEL Podger's Brecon Baroque Festival (a regular date in the BBC Music Magazine calendar) brings world class music to her home town for five days this year from Thursday, October 20 to Monday, October 25, making it the biggest festival to date.
Rachel's own celebrated ensemble, Brecon Baroque, heads the line-up alongside Welsh sopranos Elin Manahan Thomas and Sian Winstanley, oboist Alexandra Bellamy, cellist Alison McGillivray, the award-winning Ensemble Meridiana and Cardiff-based Welsh Baroque Orchestra, as well as the Brecon Baroque Festival Orchestra.
In keeping with festival tradition, there is also the Baroque Ball and a special dance première from choreographer, Katy Sinnadurai.
