With just a few days to go until the showground in Llanelwedd is full of visitors, livestock, and tradestands, all the last minute preparations for the Royal Welsh Winter Fair are being put into place.

Being held next Monday and Tuesday the Winter Fair has a packed schedule of competitions, classes, exhibitions and displays over the two-days, and visitors will be able to enjoy the all the festive celebrations and the free late night Christmas shopping evening on the Monday.

However, the windy weather forecast for Monday has meant there will no longer be hot-air balloon nightglow display. Instead, and back by popular demand, we have arranged for another amazing firework display for the Monday evening at 6.30pm.

Along with the chance to get your Christmas shopping done with the stalls in the food hall and farmers market and the hundreds of tradestands, including the extra shopping pavilion in the members’ centre, there will also be local school and community choirs, famous singers Gwawr Edwards and Trystan Llyr Griffiths, brass bands and Father Christmas at the fair to get everyone in the festive spirit.

Winter Fair Honorary Director, Will Hanks says: “The balloon glow was always weather dependent and unfortunately the forecasted windy weather has meant that it cannot go ahead.

“However, we are delighted to offer our visitors another chance to see a fantastic fireworks display at 6.30pm on Monday night instead."
