THE second weekend of Radnor YFC’s public speaking competitions were held at the FUW Building, Llanelwedd and began with the Senior debate.
Teams from across Radnor debated many topics from Brexit to standards of behaviour in public life.
Ffion Price, Amy Hammonds and Mark Nixon, Edw Valley YFC were crowned overall winners with Mark Davies, Dolau YFC winning the much coveted trophy for the best speaker.
Next day it was time for the Juniors to show off their public speaking skills with Annie Fairclough, Rhian Hughes and William Goodwin-Edwards, Llanbadarn Fynydd YFC clinching the title for the Junior Public Speaking.
The Intermediate Brainstrust was next up and Edw Valley once again came out on top with Rebecca Williams, Mark Nixon, William Davies and Ellie Hulin-Taylor claiming taking top honours and William Davies, Edw Valley YFC winning the trophy for the best speaker.
The climax of the weekend was the Just a minute competition with an All Stars team of Will Lewis, Dolau YFC, Ben Chilman, Presteigne YFC, Elizabeth Preston, Presteigne YFC and Teddy Mitchell Edw Valley YFC winning the title. The overall trophy was won by Edw Valley YFC with Llanbadarn Fynydd YFC runners up.
