YSTRADGYNLAIS Volunteer Centre is marking its 30th anniversary this year and intends staging a host of events to celebrate the landmark.

The Station Road Centre is planning events from a quiz night and family fun day to an evening with a medium.

Centre manager Caroline Bull said: "I have been manager for 15 years now and can see we have gone from strength to strength – from a rented office with just one paid staff to this year owning one shop front premise and leasing another workshop, and with 10 staff."

As part of the anniversary celebrations the volunteer centre's programme of events will start with a quiz night at Ystradgynlais Rugby Club on Thursday, April 17 at 7pm.
